One of our neighbors allows her chickens to free range most days.
With her permission, I started giving the chickens snacks and treats. Now their routine is to come over every day for a snack.
I love feeding them and seeing them everyday.
Enjoy this video of the free range chickens having a snack.
Our neighbors behind us have chickens, but they generally stay in their yard behind a fence. Unfortunately, their six went down to one when a critter got into their chicken house. They plan on getting more this spring.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun daily habit!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read the title, it took me back many, many years ago to when my 32 year old son was an eighth grader. Near the end of the year, they passed out yearbooks and let the kids wander around outside to chat and ask each other to sign their books. When I asked him that evening how it went, he said, "It was okay, I guess. Now I know how free range chickens feel."
ReplyDeleteOf course they'd come to visit when they know you have food. It's a good way to make friends :)
ReplyDeleteYay for free-range chickens! And they look pretty happy that you're feeding them. :)
ReplyDeleteOur daughter has chickens, pigs, goats, and dogs as well as some inside pets like sugar gliders. They love their zoo!
