Garlic & Herb Cream Cheese

This has become a favorite at our house.  Bagels are a breakfast staple for weekday mornings, and this garlic and herb cream cheese makes them a little more interesting than just butter or plain cream cheese, but doesn't take any more time in the mornings if I mix a batch up on Sunday night.

Garlic & Herb Cream Cheese

8 oz cream cheese, softened
½ tsp parsley
1 garlic clove, pressed or chopped
¼ tsp basil
¼ tsp onion powder

Combine all ingredients and mix well.  Enjoy on bagels or toast.  Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

  1. Hi Danielle,

I absolutely love garlic and herb cream cheese. That and a bagel, what a great idea.

  2. Oh that sounds good. I haven't had bagels in ages. Just don't keep them in the house but I might have to get some next shopping trip just to try this!

    1. We seem to be addicted to bagels lately, especially since I started making this.

  3. I can't eat garlic. Even the smell of it nauseates me. This is not great for my partner who adores it. Maybe I'm a vampire...

    1. It's just fun to experiment in the kitchen, you never know when you'll come up with something you love.

  5. Nice idea! My family loves bagels---we occasionally have them for a quick dinner with fruit or salad, etc if I am stressed for what to serve. They make flavored cream cheeses, but making your own will taste so much fresher and better. Thanks for sharing.

    1. We like to have bagels for dinner sometimes too. It's quick and easy for crazy busy days. I like making my own flavored cream cheese to control the flavors, and it seems to be a little cheaper to dress up the plain cream cheese than it is to buy the flavored ones.
